Abstract

Background:

Generic substitution of antibiotic capsule brands may present bioequiyalence problem challenges due the preponderance of fake and substandard products in the pharmaceutical market in Nigeria, which can lead to an increase in the cost of treatment and antibiotic resistance.The study was undertaken to identify which brands of amomcillin 500mg capsules conform to compendia standards and to compare the cost of the 12 selected brands in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State of Nigeria.
