About the Journal

The Nigerian Journal of Pharmacy (PSNNJP) is the official organ of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria with its first print in 1961 (as Journal of Pharmacy) and with unbroken publication since 1970 (as PSNNJP).

The PSNNJP is a peer-reviewed, open access journal which publishes original research articles, review articles and case studies on all aspects of pharmaceutical sciences and technologies, pharmacy practice and related clinical aspects, and pharmacy education. The journal publishes articles covering developments in drug absorption and metabolism, pharmacokinetics and dynamics, drug delivery systems, drug targeting and nanotechnology. It also covers development of new systems, methods, Clinical Pharmacy and techniques in pharmacy education and practice. The scope of the journal also extends to cover advancements in toxicology, cell and molecular biology, biomedical research, clinical and pharmaceutical microbiology, pharmaceutical biotechnology, medicinal chemistry, phytochemistry and nutraceuticals. The Journal reports society news, with special attention to innovations in the Nigerian and African pharmacy practice space.

Published by one of the oldest professional associations in Nigeria, the PSNNJP celebrates the traditional arts of pharmacy practice and embraces innovative scientific processes that provide answers to current problems. FROM THE EDITORS DESK

The Nigerian Journal of Pharmacy is a publication of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria that publishes original research papers, critical reviews, systematic reviews, and short communications in all areas of Pharmacy Practice. The Nigerian Journal of Pharmacy has ISSN 0331-670X (Print) and eISSN approved number 2795-2665 obtained from the National Library of Nigeria. The eISSN was also accepted for indexation in the prestigious Asian Science Scientific index ASCI Database in addition to being indexed by Google scholar and CrossRef®. The theme for the 98th Annual National Conference of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria tagged “DABO'25”  is “Pharmacy Forward: Building a future-ready workforce for performance, collaboration and transformation” and this is highly relevant as it focuses on developing a pharmacy workforce that is equipped for future demands, emphasizing improved performance, teamwork, and adapting to industry changes in Nigeria. 

The Nigerian Journal of Pharmacy is pivotal in strengthening the pharmaceutical sector through publishing of timely and innovative research outcomes. This current issue consists of ten (10) original research papers and five (5) review papers authored by researchers.
